Privacy

How this site handles data

No cookies, no analytics, nothing loaded from another company’s servers. That claim is only worth as much as its detail, so here is the detail.

01

Who is responsible

Tomasz Hildt, acting as a private individual, decides what happens to the data described here. Everything below is reachable at tomasz.hildt@21eastpress.com; a postal address is available on request.

02

What is stored on your device

No cookies are set, by this site or by anyone else. There is one exception to “nothing”: dismissing the privacy notice at the foot of the screen writes a single entry named th-privacy-notice to your browser’s local storage, so the notice does not return on the next page. It holds one word. Clearing site data in your browser removes it, and the notice comes back.

03

What the server records

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web server, it logs each request: the IP address it came from, the browser and operating system the browser reports, the page asked for and the time. The purpose is to serve the site, keep it available and work out what broke when something breaks. The legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Vercel acts as a processor under a data processing agreement and keeps these logs for a limited period. The company is based in the United States; the transfer rests on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses.

04

If you write

There is no form on this site, so contact means email. A message carries your address, your name and whatever you chose to put in it. It is used to answer you and, if we agree on an engagement, to arrange it — legitimate interest and steps towards a contract, Article 6(1)(f) and (b). Correspondence is kept while it is live and for as long as an engagement needs it, then deleted.

05

What is deliberately absent

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no social plugins, no embedded video, no chat widget, no A/B testing, no fingerprinting. The typefaces are served from this domain rather than from Google, so opening a page contacts nobody but this server. Nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing, because there is nothing to sell.

06

Links that leave the site

Some links point to Amazon and LinkedIn. Following one puts you under their rules, which are their own. Nothing about you reaches them before you click.

07

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable form. Write to the address in 01. You can also complain to a data protection authority in the country where you live; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). There is no profiling here and no automated decision-making.
